When music is playing, swipe up to reveal repeat button and tap it to make sure it's not in repeat 1 mode.

It's wrong, plain and simple.

I repeat - you cannot add a song from the Now Playing screen - or the Cover Flow Menu (not even once you get into the list of songs) - to the On-The-Go Playlist.

You have stated that your iPod Classic is broken, so you cannot test your argument. My Classic does work and not only was I already aware of what I have told you, I have tested it again today to make sure I'm giving you correct and precise information.

Instead of searching for information that tells you what you want to hear, about an iPod you no longer have the use of, why don't you concentrate on deciding how you can adapt your use of the nano to suit you. Why for example have you not commented on my suggestion, even if you have compelling reasons for not trying it?

It's up to you.

Hi

Upon raising your wrist whilst a workout session is active, it is normal for the Workout app to be shown. It is not possible to configure Apple Watch to show the watch face instead.

To view your workout metrics, swipe sideways on the screen.

To remove your workout playlist, if desired:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Workout > Workout Playlist > select None.

If you would like to submit a feature request to Apple, then you can do so here:

OK - We had a communications issue.

1. One thing that's counterintuitive is that the shuffle/play and repeat options appear not in the Playlist, but in a given song.  (Why? How do you know if what you do is for one song or the whole playlist?)

2. Tapping is not a good description of the action. You have to hold down the button until the color changes red/white. That's critical.

Once I figured this out (Apple Support sent me the relevant document) I could cancel both repeat and shuffle. Now the album plays normally.

Cheers.

You do not hold down the centre button, you press and release it. Each press cycles through options such as the scrubber bar (move forwards or backwards in a song), star rating and the Shuffle menu. When you get to the shuffle menu, you then use the scroll wheel to move between shuffle off, shuffle songs and shuffle albums.

Since you have the iPod in Shuffle mode, then the issue is almost certainly that the memos are set to Skip when shuffling. A quick test is to turn off shuffle and then select a song from that Playlists. If it now states 1 of 40 (or whatever the number is), then that strongly suggests that the Skip when shuffling is on.

Actually, it's as quick to check in your iTunes Library...

Check one of the songs in your iTunes Library: highlight it and select File/Get Info/Options>Skip when shuffling (or use CTRL I {that's an "eye"} to bring up the Get Info panel and then select the Options tab):

skip box05.png

  • If you change any of the songs, you need to Sync the iPod with iTunes after the changes, so that they are made on the iPod as well.
  • If you select multiple songs for change, the Skip when shuffling becomes a drop-down menu instead of the tick box. Ignore what the drop-down actually states (which will almost certainly be a "no", even if some songs are set to "yes"), change it to Yes, then change it to back to No and click OK. (There's a long-term bug in iTunes that causes it to state "no" when there is a mixture of "yes" and "no" songs.)

Once done, your Playlist should state 1 of 40 when in shuffle mode.

Hi, cookiemonster722.

It seems that a playlist you use while sleeping will stop unexpectedly which interrupts your sleep. The Music application has stopped responding and you have to force close the Music app and restart the playlist. I'd want that fixed as well and I'm happy to help.

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- First, force close the Music application if it's open, then -- Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Restart your iPhone. Once it's returned to the Home screen, test the issue.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- If restarting your phone didn't resolve the issue, please be sure to have a fresh backup to keep your personal information safe. In order to back up your Health data, the backup needs to be encrypted. iCloud does this automatically, but iTunes doesn't. If you'd like to use iTunes to back up your phone, refer to this article: About encrypted backups in iTunes

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. After the list populates, scroll down to the Music application, then tap "Offload App". Once the application has been removed, reinstall it again and test. (If you subscribe to Apple Music, any music you've downloaded for offline playing will need to be downloaded again.)

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- If offloading isn't available, follow the steps in this article. Even though the title of the article isn't specific to your issue, the section titled "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" will walk you through all the steps to reinstall the iOS software on your device. Test the issue once your phone has returned to the Home screen.

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!
