Open safari and its preferences > Autofill > uncheck the box of users name and password , so that it will not fill up in user library > keychain folder , for third party apps ( generally avoided to be installed in Mac ) if they are to be installed , if an option appears to add password click on not now .

Safari can’t open a website

Safari – slow page loads

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Web Content not responding

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

If that doesn't work, try running this program in your normal user account , then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. Passwords for what? It's a very, very bad idea to use the same passwords for different accounts. If one account is compromised, your others are vulnerable.

You can use KeyChain on your Mac to store passwords. It can be set to auto-fill passwords on websites.

As long as you are currently signed into iCloud on your iPhone it should remember all your passwords. Make sure "Keychain" is turned on in iCloud settings: Settings > "Your name" at the top > iCloud > Keychain. Otherwise you will lose the passwords.

When you reset your phone you will need to sign back into iCloud and make sure Keychain is enabled to get your passwords back.

Are you saying you don't have a passcode on your phone at all? My phone requests TouchID before it will let me into my passwords.

You appear to have an iPhone 7. TouchID is incredibly fast. Put a passcode on your phone and set up TouchID. You'll hardly notice that your phone is locked. And, should your phone ever be lost or stolen, your data will be safe.

Hi Slipstream 50,

I see that you've not received a reply to your post. Here is some information you can provide that may help others to respond.

Are you using iCloud Keychain to remember website login and password data?

Are you using Private Browsing mode with Safari on your iPad?

Were you able to have the username and password information auto-populate for the websites you mention prior to updating to iOS 11.2.5?

Best Regards.

Oh, I did not go to the Passwords from Safari, but instead I went to that from the system utilities.  That;'s why it was not working.  After reading your reply, I did check the "AUTO..." box in the Passwords from Safari.  Thank you so much.

As far as I know, Chrome does not save passwords in the macOS Keychain.   So it is most likely using the same code on macOS as it is using on Windows.  If it is not secure on Windows, then it would not be secure on macOS.

Personally, I use 1Password on my Macs and iPhone to store my passwords.  The passwords are kept in an encrypted file on my Mac, but I sync the already encrypted file with my other Macs and my iPhone, so I always have up-to-date password information on all my systems.

There are other people that like LastPass.com as a cross platform password manager.

NOTE:  I like 1Password for more than just saving the password.  I also save things like the account security questions so I have the "Exact" spelling of my answers to each of the questions.  I store secure notes and images in 1Password.  It can contain a lot of non-password information, all kept securely encrypted.
