Good afternoon Michell_eris,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you are wanting to pair your Apple Watch Series 3 to your car stereo system.   At this time, the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch are the only devices that can be used with your car stereo.  Bluetooth accessories like headsets can be paired to the Apple Watch, but it can't be paired with a car stereo, only with an iPhone.

Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo

About Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular on your Apple Watch

To enjoy every feature on your Apple Watch, you need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your paired iPhone. Swipe up on your iPhone to open Control Center. Then make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on.

Your Apple Watch uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to communicate with your paired iPhone, switching between connections as needed

Take care.

Greetings, reidwithani.

I see that one of your hearing aids isn't connecting with your iPhone SE after updating to iOS 11.1.2. They both pair fine on another device with a different iPhone SE which hasn't been updated, and an iPhone 7 which has been. I'm happy to help.

If you can‘t connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- First, follow the steps provided in this article.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- If the steps in the previous article didn't resolve the issue, please be sure to have a fresh backup to keep your personal information safe. In order to back up your Health data, the backup needs to be encrypted. iCloud does this automatically, but iTunes doesn't. If you'd like to use iTunes to back up your phone, refer to this article: About encrypted backups in iTunes

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Even though the title of the article isn't specific to your issue, the section titled "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" will walk you through all the steps to reinstall the iOS software on your device. Test the issue once your phone has returned to the Home screen.

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!

Hi

Yes, your son would also need a compatible model of iPhone:

  • Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) requires an iPhone 5s or newer model with the latest version of iOS.
  • Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or newer model with the latest version of iOS.

Apple Watch cannot be set up on a standalone basis or using any other device from Apple or any other manufacturer.

Once it has been set up, Apple Watch can be used without the iPhone for many features. However, it still requires a compatible model of iPhone in order to set it up, use it and manage it over time.

The built-in cellular feature on Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) also requires a service plan for the paired iPhone that includes support for the Apple Watch, including the carrier activating the watch on the plan.

What I was saying is that looking through their support it seems that you don't just pair the device with the phone, you have to use their app. Have you paired this device with your phone in the past? Your user guide should describe how to put the device into pairing mode. Then turn Bluetooth on for the phone and you should see the device. Again, the instructions for pairing the device come from the company. All you have to do to put the phone into pairing mode is to turn on Bluetooth with that page of Settings open.

I would try 2, then 3. Step 1 would most likely leave the computer unusable until you reinstalled the OS.

Your TP keyboard might work again after the install is complete.

If the watch is running watch os 4, it requires an iPhone running iOS 11. It will not work with a 5c as the 5c can not run iOS 11. Your friend will need a new phone.

Try in Settings app forgetting the device in the Bluetooth Settings, then try re-pairing.

If still no success, try a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons, once your iPad Pro comes back, In Bluetooth Settings, again, forget the Apple Pencil (Forget this device and re-pair).

If still no joy,

Try letting it charge on the iPad or the supplied adapter for a couple of hours without using it.

Then, try re-pairing it after a couple of hours.

If STILL no joy, the Li-ioj battery has been completely depleted and the Apple Pencil is dead.

You will have to purchase a new one.

With new Apple Pencil make sure it is always charged, even if it is not being used for prolonged periods of time.

This is yet one of many reasons I do not like the Apple Pencil.  It is always in an “always on” state and the Li-ion battery just constantly drains.

This is why I use another third party smart Bluetooth stylus that works very will with my iPad Pro with no issues like the many that have been ocuring with many Apple Pencil users.
