The same thing happens to me from time to time. One of the ways that I “fixed” it, was to delete an app that I wasn’t really using then delete the update again. That shouldn’t be necessary but it worked. Usually, I just keep trying and trying eventually it will delete. I don’t quit settings until I finally get it to work.
You could try a forced restart and then see if it will delete as it should, but once again, that should not be necessary. To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

You may have to adjust the brightness on the target iMac before your switch to target mode. I don't know. I have no way to test it. I take it the brightness keys on the target iMac don't work?

Thanks for getting back to us, mka052779.
To format the disk with the FAT32 filesystem, you'll want to choose the "MS-DOS (FAT)" option to accomplish this.

Keychain going crazy - cannot connect to email
Favor from:
Problem solved:
The Skype "helper" (helping to create havoc on your computer) is part of Skype 8 - loaded with unnecessary features that don't work.
Solution: download Skype Classic here: https://go.skype.com/classic.skype
...and overwrite the newer Skype with the older version.
No more "helper" app messing up my computer. It can connect to my Keychain, and it won't mess up my email again.

It may otherwise help to unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch, which has stopped further Emergency SOS notifications from being sent for some other users:
- The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app.
- Initially choose to Restore from Backup during set up (most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions, such as Apple Pay cards, passcode).
- If the issue persists, consider instead unpairing and setting it up as a new watch.
- Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support

How to Create a New User Account if You Cannot Access Your Admin Account
Reboot the computer. At the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys to start into Single-user Mode. You will boot to a black screen with scrolling white text, release the keys and wait until it finishes. Enter the following lines at the command prompt pressing RETURN after each:
mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
reboot
After you reboot the computer you will be taken to the Setup Assistant. When you get to the point where you are asked to set up your new user account, create a new admin account. Be sure to name this user account something different than the admin user account that already exists on the system. When you finish the Setup Assistant, it will automatically log you into the new account.
You can transfer your files from the old account to the new one. See Transferring files from one User Account to another. Once you have moved all your files into your new account, you can delete the old account using Accounts or Users & Groups preferences.
