Apple Watch Series 1 - Activity App
Not sure why or how this happened, but last night at 3am my watch woke me with an activity app stating its time to standup. The watch is brand new, 2 weeks old with the current OS installed. It has never done that before. I wear the watch while I sleep to track / monitor my sleep. Needless to say being woken up at 3am was not pleasant. Ideas or suggestions would be helpful. I've looked in the activity app and cannot find any settings as to why this would have happened.

Apple Watch does not recognise when you are sleeping.
To prevent notification alerts - including Stand and Breathe reminders - on your Apple Watch from disturbing you, but to still receive audible alerts for alarms and timers, turn on Do Not Disturb:
- On your Apple Watch: when viewing the time, swipe up on the watch face to open Control Centre > tap the Do Not Disturb button (crescent moon icon) to toggle the mode on and off.
- Use the Control Center on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Your Apple Watch and iPhone can also be configured such that enabling Do Not Disturb mode on one device also enables it on the other.
This setting also applies to scheduled operation of the mode on your iPhone - which you may wish to set for a nightly schedule, covering the hours when you are usually sleeping:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Do Not Disturb - turn on Mirror iPhone.
- On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Do Not Disturb - turn on Scheduled and set your preferred times.
It is not otherwise possible to limit Stand reminders to a specific time window.
