Have Mavericks on 2013 MBP retina, can't upgrade to El Captian on app store

I'm writing this at the time that Mac OS High Sierra is out.

When in the app store it says I can't install it, presumable because it was meant only to be downloaded by Snow leopard users. However I don't want to run High Sierra on my machine. Its too slow, I've tried it. but i do want to upgrade to El capitan.

any idea on how to bypass apple's rigid upgrade scheme thingy.

Thanks but it’s what I already mentioned that this version is exclusive to snow leopard users. Mavericks users can’t download it.

I have however found a copy in someone’s google drive. Now I have to determine if it’s been compromised in any way. I wonder if there is like an md5 system for apple files.
