Mail won't display?

When I opened my mail this morning, I can see that it is open but nothing will display. I can go to WINDOW and choose MESSAGE VIEWER and the message viewer comes up. When I select a specific email to read, it opens with the correct header but the screen is blank and the message doesn't come up. I am on an iMac with Mac os Sierra.

I tried hitting view and all of the choices at the top but they are not highlighted.   The only change I had is that I had to add Google Chrome in order to use Nextivafax services.  Can anyone advise?

Hey Polocop,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are unable to view emails with the Mail app on your Mac. This is certainly odd behavior and there's not much to indicate installing Google Chrome would affect this, but I'm here to help. If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest simply closing out of the Mail app and re-opening. If these emails appear the same, you could also restart your iMac as well.

If these steps don't resolve this for you, I'd suggest rebuilding the mailbox using the information in the following link. Rebuild mailboxes

Let me know what happens.
