Is it safe to use a 29w USB-C power adapter to charge my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9"?
I keep getting conflicting information about this. Is it safe to use a 29w USB-C power adapter to charge my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9"?
I know it works, but I was also told by two different Apple support techs on separate occasions to only use the supplied 12w adapter, and that using the 29w adapter will degrade the battery faster, and that its not recommended to use with an iPad or iPhone. This confuses me when so many third-party websites and videos recommend using the 29w adapter for the much faster charge.
In addition, I have looked through some Apple support docs about charging the iPad, and none of them mention using the 29w adapter to get quicker charge. Also, the 29w adapter isn't even listed for sale in the iPad accessories/Power & Cables category of the Apple Store, only the 12w adapter.
Will the 29w power adapter degrade my iPad battery faster, or damage it in any way?
