CarPlay removed

Hi. I can't find carplay app in my Iphone, I think I had it removed. Now I'm trying to have it back but I can't find it in the App Store either. I have checked  the restrictions in General -> Restrictions, and I made sure Siri and CarPlay are authorised. How can I have the Apple CarPlay back?

Hey hanse_g,

It sounds like you're looking for a CarPlay app to use with your car, and I'd be happy to help clarify how CarPlay is designed to work. The good news is, CarPlay is not a stand alone app so it was not removed from your iPhone 5s. CarPlay functionality becomes available once you've paired your device to a CarPlay enabled vehicle, and you operate CarPlay using your car’s built-in controls.

You can learn more about this and other ways this works in the link below.

About CarPlay

CarPlay puts key iPhone apps on your car’s built-in display. With CarPlay and your iPhone, you can get turn-by-turn directions, make phone calls, exchange text messages, listen to music, and more. CarPlay uses the contacts on your iPhone to help you make calls, send texts, and find destinations.

Note: CarPlay is available only in certain areas (go to the iOS Feature Availability website). Siri must be enabled on your iPhone. Go to Settings > Siri & Search.

CarPlay is available on select automobiles (go to the CarPlay available models website) and on select aftermarket navigation systems.

Hope this helps and thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Take care.
