why do apple watch face photos show up on my photos

Screenshots are taken (and added to Photos on your iPhone) when you press and hold the side button on your Apple Watch and then immediately press and release the Digital Crown.

Besides potentially happening when you bend your wrist, accidental screenshots may also be caused by your clothing catching on the buttons.

To prevent this from occurring, you may wish to consider trying:

• Wearing your watch a little higher on your wrist.
• Wearing your watch band more tightly (exercise may otherwise cause it to move it from the usual position).
• Wearing your watch on your other wrist or on the same wrist, but rotated by 180 degrees, so that the Digital Crown and side button are on the other side, where they may be less likely to be activated unintentionally.
  • To adjust the display settings, on your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Watch Orientation - change the side for the Digital Crown.
