LATE 2012 27 inch IMAC Power Off Randomly

Bought my IMAC in 2013 and starting around this time last year it would randomly start to shut off while I was working. I all adobe creative suite on the IMAC as i am a graphic designer, and it would frequently shut down while running those programs.

When it shuts off there is nothing you can see on the screen, and won't turn back on right away UNLESS you unplug the power cord from the back of the IMAC, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.

I took the computer to an Apple Store near me and they ran tests on the computer for a few days and COULD'NT replicate the issue. I brought the computer home and after a few times of being on the computer, it shut off just as it did before. Has anyone had this issue before and know how to resolve it? HELP!!!

I won't request an Entrecheck report, since I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is. And how you might resolve it.

You're a graphic designer, so your machine probably performs some intensive projects. When your machine's temperature rises above a certain point, your iMac automatically shuts off. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that the heat is concentrated on the CPU Cores and GPU Die.

The solution is to reduce the overall heat load. Using your machine intermittently doesn't make much sense as a means of reducing heat. But there are some good solutions. My personal favorite is iStat Menus http://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/

Macs Fan Control http://www.crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control?ref=macupdate is said to be very good.
